You all did a great job with your presentational writing task today.  I am super proud of how much Spanish you are learning!  Keep up the good work.  ¡Bien hecho!

The learning goal for our presentational writing task is:

• Use single words and simple memorized words and phrases to present information
• My name is, I am from, my likes & dislikes (activities)

Tomorrow I will have a short conversation with each of you. The learning goal for this interpersonal communication task is:

• NL.COD.1
• Carry out simple exchanges of information using memorized vocabulary

We generated a list of questions and responses that we already know and found we can have a pretty great conversation in Spanish already!  ¡Hurra!

WOW!  That's a lot of information in Spanish that we know how to exchange.  Tomorrow we will practice this in class and then you each get an opportunity to speak with Profa.

Today we are going to practice vocabulario and begin to write about ourselves.  We are going to introduce ourselves tomorrow in written form (presentational writing) as our final task for this unit.  You will write a paragraph with the following information:

• Three activities you like to do
• Me gusta......,........,.......
• Three activities you do not like to do

• Ejemplo:  ¿Qué te gusta hacer?

Today we are focusing on cognates by learning about different kinds of dances and music.  Cognates are words that look alike and have a similar meaning in both Spanish and English.

Our learning goal today is: 

• to recognize examples of cognates and loan words

Coming up this week we will have a reading task and a writing task to finish up with Capítulo 1A.

Today we will take a listening and reading comprehension assessment that targets our knowledge of the vocabulary.  In this chapter we are learning how to say what we like to do.  We've learned to say I like to....and I don't like to...

Hola, estudiantes.  Hoy vamos a estudiar y practicar el vocabulario. Today we are going to study and practice the vocabulary for Chapter 1A.  Es un día de trabajar y tienen la oportunidad hacer preguntas. Today is a work day and you have the opportunity to ask questions.  
We are working from the Practice Books in class.  Study the vocabulary tonight as we are having a quiz tomorrow.  It will be an interpretive listening (do you understand what is being said in Spanish) and an interpretive reading (do you understand what you are reading in Spanish) that focuses on the vocabulary for this chapter.  Tengan un buen día.
